Scotland’s Housing Network visit to Connect Modular
Scotland’s Housing Network arranged a tour of Connect Modular on 25th January to enable members to find out more about the potential benefits of modular homes. Connect Modular, part of The Wee House Group supplies affordable, modular homes to housing associations, local authorities and housing developers across the UK.
The tour began in the 120,00 sq ft manufacturing facility in Cumnock and ended on site in Shortlees where the homes are constructed in modules. All houses are more than 90% complete before leaving the factory, where they have been fitted out with kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing and electrics. We were lucky enough to walk through these completed modules and see the high quality of the finish, and all the fixtures and fitting in place.
Next we were able to head to Kilmarnock where Connect Modular are currently delivering 101 affordable homes for Cunninghame Housing Association. There we were able to tour completed homes that were receiving final external works before being ready for occupancy. It is safe to say that we were all impressed by the quality and precision of the affordable modular homes that were being manufactured.
