Scottish Housing Regulator has issued its first request for data on RAAC in social housing.
The Scottish Housing regulator has issued its first request for data on RAAC in social housing. The initial ask is for numbers that have already been identified with RAAC and those still being surveyed. The return is also asking for comments covering factored properties and non-housing assets.
This request compliments others from the Scottish Government covering non housing buildings held by local councils but doesn’t cover wholly privately owned properties. As yet we have no clear picture of the scale of the issue in the private sector. So, we can expect a few more questions in the coming weeks. Meanwhile the number of homes known to have RAAC continues to grow with further reports this week of tenants and owners being decanted. The expectation remains that numbers will be in the hundreds rather than thousands but the local impact on landlord investment programmes and the owners involved could be significant. As ever, we’ll
keep you up to date as best we can.
