Analogue to Digital Switch – Support Available

18 January 2024

The migration from analogue to digital telephone services is currently underway, with a complete phase-out expected by 2025. In line with this, a nationwide stop-sell initiative was implemented in September 2023, preventing Communication Providers from supplying analogue lines (PSTN or ISDN) to both existing and new customers. This transition impacts all devices reliant on traditional telephone lines, including critical services like telecare devices and lift alarms. Any equipment transmitting activations or calls to alarm receiving centres may face disruptions.

The Digital Telecare Programme is here to help you address this challenge. Your engagement with the programme provides Digital Telecare Office with a better picture of how this transition will impact housing providers nationally. Essential information, along with resources and guidance can be accessed through the link below.
